Camp Galileo 2021: Reflections on the Summer
Dear Galileo families,
As we pack up the last of our paintbrushes and pinball projects and return our rubber chickens to the roost, I want to thank you for being part of the Galileo community this camp season.
As I visited Galileo camps near and far this summer I was inspired to see our staff guiding your kids to boldly create catapults, go-karts, camping chairs, water blasters, and so much more. It’s universal—from Lincoln Park to Pasadena to Palo Alto, kids love to create. And when they are surrounded by a culture that supports that, and are taught a process that helps them go from idea to reality, they build innovation muscles that last well beyond camp.
Seeing this was especially poignant given the year our children have just had. It was amazing to see kids adjusting to being together again. This wasn’t always easy, and I know teachers and families alike will have a lot of work to do to support the transition back to a (hopefully) more normal school year.
I’m beyond grateful that we were able to be together again this summer. Thank you for sticking with us through this tough period and for trusting us to create a safe environment during COVID. We look forward to working with you throughout the coming year, whether that be through participation in the Galileo Innovators Club or through sharing resources from the world of innovation.
See you soon!
