Berkeley Summer Camp Activities

Our Berkeley summer camp offers activities for every age and interest. Our campers engage in imaginative engineering and design projects, including woodworking, model building, painting and more. With every creativity-sparking activity, they’ll learn lasting collaboration and critical thinking skills and, above all, have fun!

Every week of our Berkeley day camp summer program is designed for campers from K-8th grade to maximize their fun while learning life skills along the way. Campers dive into a vibrant mix of games and projects designed to foster creative skills, friendships and teamwork. Our program is segmented into four age groups to ensure the participants have similar skill levels and that all activities are age-appropriate. Whether your child is a first-time camper or a returning participant, our carefully curated curriculum ensures that they’re always expanding their horizons.

Our oldest age group is the CIT (counselors in training) program for 8th-10th graders; however, 8th graders also have the option of choosing between being campers or CITs. At Camp Galileo’s CIT program, the day is packed with engaging activities that foster leadership and accountability with 3 rotations. It kicks off with team-building and leadership exercises, where kids learn essential skills like communication and how to foster a positive atmosphere. Next, they get hands-on experience mentoring younger campers in creative art and engineering projects. The day wraps up with a choice of roles in camp operations, from leading fun outdoor activities to helping behind the scenes, ensuring a well-rounded experience in both leadership and camp management.
