Terms of Purchase
Effective Date:
September 26, 2024
You confirm that you are registering your child(ren) for the previously listed Galileo program(s) and that you have read and understand these Terms of Purchase, and the Terms of Service which are incorporated by this reference. Your child(ren)’s enrollment and participation in our camp is subject to the following payment, transfer and cancellation terms:
Enrollment and Payment:
Payment is due upon enrollment, either in full or, where available, according to our Pay Over Time schedule. Customers may not participate in camp programs until all payments have been made.
If you are eligible for and have elected our Pay Over Time option, automatic payments will be processed according to the schedule displayed at the time of registration and included in your confirmation email. Should an automatic payment fail, Galileo will notify you via email, and provide you an opportunity to re-attempt your transaction and/or update your payment method. Failure to complete a scheduled payment following notification may result in cancellation of your purchase, subject to the standard terms below.
Early Enrollment (“Presale”):
During Galileo’s Early Enrollment promotion period, you have the opportunity to purchase discounted camp session enrollments in advance for the upcoming summer camp season. This allows you to select the specific week(s) and location(s) of attendance at a later date once Galileo’s summer schedules are finalized and made public. Early Enrollments entitle the purchaser to attendance at camp sessions offered and available during the upcoming summer camp season ONLY, and apply equally to any 5-day or holiday-shortened 4-day camp session.
An additional supply and materials fee may be required at the time of your session selection should you select certain Meteor age group camp sessions, depending on the projects offered. Early Enrollment purchases may not be combined with any other discount or promotion.
Early Enrollment purchasers will be entitled to select their camp week(s) and location(s) ahead of the general public during a priority enrollment period, the dates of which will be announced at a later time and may vary by camp location. During the priority enrollment period, Early Enrollment purchasers are guaranteed their choice of week(s) and location(s), corresponding to the number of early enrollments purchased and subject to any additional fees required for specific camp sessions, such as a supply and materials fee. Following the priority enrollment period, selection of all weeks and locations is subject to availability.
No refunds or credits shall be issued for unused early enrollments, other than as expressly stated in these Terms of Purchase. Expiration of Early Enrollment purchase void where prohibited by law or limited to the minimum period required by law as applicable.
Transfer & Cancellation:
You may transfer to a different session or location at any time, up until fourteen (14) days before the start of the enrolled camp session at no charge, subject to availability.
The following cancellation rules apply to ALL Camp Galileo enrollments, including Early Enrollment , Pay Over Time enrollments, standard enrollment and extended care enrollments for the upcoming summer camp season.
- You may cancel for a full refund within 48 hours of completing your initial enrollment transaction
- Early Enrollment transactions: this is recognized as the first date of purchase in the Early Enrollment timeframe.
- Pay Over Time transactions: this is recognized as the date at which your original enrollment is processed and your first payment is made.
After that, you will be subject to cancellation fees based on the date of cancellation, per the schedule below. All dates refer to the calendar year of the camp enrollment in question.
Early Enrollment Purchases
Prior to January 31 | February 1 to March 31 | April 1 until 46 days prior to first camp start date | Within 45 days of first camp start date |
---|---|---|---|
Refund of all monies paid | Refund of all monies paid less a fee of $25/session | Refund of all monies paid less 50% of total purchase price | No refunds or credits |
Standard Purchases – Camp Session and Extended Care
Prior to March 31 | April 1 until 46 days prior to first camp start date | Within 45 days of first camp start date |
---|---|---|
Refund of all monies paid less $25/session | Refund of all monies paid less 50% of total purchase price | No refunds or credits |
- For purposes of this cancellation policy, “first camp start date” refers to the first day of the earliest session in which you originally enrolled, or which you selected (for Early Enrollment purchasers), regardless of any subsequent transfers. For Early Enrollment purchasers who cancel prior to selecting week(s) of attendance, the “first camp start date” shall be calculated as the latest available camp start date in the community designated at the time of Early Enrollment.
- Given the nature of our programs, Galileo incurs substantial non-recoverable costs and expenses in planning, preparing and pre-paying for camps. Therefore, no exceptions to these policies may be made for events affecting customers’ ability to attend camp (including, but not limited to: job loss, summer travel, summer school attendance, relocation, illness).
All refunds will be made to the original form of payment UNLESS refund takes place 180 or more days after initial enrollment transaction (see definition above). In these cases, the refund will be processed by check which can take up to 8 weeks to receive.
Cancellation by Galileo:
If Galileo cancels a camp session for any reason within its reasonable control, you may choose between a 100% refund to the original payment method, or a 110% future camp credit to be redeemed for services by August 31, 2026. In the event of an interrupted camp program, the amount of the refund or future camp credit will be prorated for the missed portions of the program.
Galileo offers our Early Enrollment sale in communities where we plan to hold camp during the upcoming summer. However, if during the upcoming summer camp season Galileo does not offer a camp location within 15 miles of the community you designate at the time of your early enrollment, we will transfer your enrollment to another convenient location at no cost or issue a full refund to your original method of payment.
Cancellations/Modifications Required by External Events Beyond Galileo’s Reasonable Control
Galileo shall not be liable to any customer for Galileo’s need to cancel, modify or postpone camp as a result of events that are beyond Galileo’s reasonable control (a “Force Majeure Event”). Galileo incurs substantial non-recoverable costs and expenses of its own in planning, preparing, and pre-paying amounts for camps. Accordingly, if Galileo cannot operate a camp as originally scheduled or it is interrupted due to any Force Majeure Event, customers will receive a credit for all monies paid, which must be redeemed for services by August 31, 2025. In the event of an interrupted camp program, the amount of the future camp credit will be prorated for the missed portions of the program. Cancellation, modification or postponement by Galileo for causes described in this section shall not be a violation of its obligations to any customer and will not be deemed a “failure” to provide services.
Force Majeure Events include, but are not limited to, such “acts of God” or events as actual or threats of: (i) epidemics or pandemics, or other public health issues or emergencies (such as but not limited to the current COVID-19 pandemic); (ii) severe weather events or natural disasters such as but not limited to hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, fires, floods, volcanic activity or landslides; war (whether declared or undeclared); (iii) terrorist activities; (iv) incidents of violence, riot, sabotage or civil commotion; (v) strikes or labor disputes or lockouts; (vi) government orders, sanctions, actual or potential quarantines, or other restrictions affecting activities in or around a camp location; (vi) chemical or radioactive contamination; (vii) any other reason that makes it actually or potentially impossible or illegal for Galileo to offer camp services as originally contracted; or (viii) unavailability of camp facilities due to (i)-(vii) above.
Refer a Friend Program Offer:
Registered Galileo customers may be eligible for a referral credit when they share their personalized referral code and the referred customer completes his or her first purchase. To qualify for the credit, the referred customer must be a new Galileo customer and use the referrer’s unique code, create a new account, and enroll in at least one week of camp. The use of the referral code cannot be used with any other promotional code. Referral credit is granted as Galileo “store credit” to the referrer’s account 24 hours after the referred customer completes his or her first enrollment. The referral credit is non-transferable and may be redeemed at the Galileo customer’s next purchase or any purchase made through the camp season following the one in which the referral is made.
We reserve the right to review, investigate, and remove referral credit as well as suspend users or accounts in instances we identify behavior we believe to be abusive, fraudulent, or not aligned with the spirit of the program, such as:
- Attempts to gain credit through self-referral by opening multiple accounts using different email addresses or by adding identical payment methods to multiple accounts.
- Credit gained by referring customers through paid advertising, sponsored links, posting to commercial sites, or spamming.
- Violation of these Terms.
If a referred customer cancels their purchase more than 45 days prior to their first day of camp, their purchase will no longer count toward your successful referrals, and the credit will be reversed.
We reserve the right to suspend our referral program at any time. If we remove the links to your referral codes, you may not receive referral credit for new people completing their first purchases with us thereafter.
You’re encouraged to share your referral link with friends and family and through social media outlets. However, you must not, without permission, include Galileo trademarks or engage in activity that may be regarded as misleading or misrepresenting your relationship with Galileo to Galileo customers.
Group Booking:
In cases where a single booking entity, such as a school, tour operator, or in some cases an individual, enrolls numerous campers from different families, Galileo may in its sole discretion, treat such enrollment as a Group Booking, subject to the following conditions:
- Enrollments will be recognized as final once full payment is received and a Group Booking Agreement is completed with authorized signature.
- A Legal Guardian Consent, Acknowledgement, and Release is required for all participants attending as part of the Group Booking.
- Any chaperones or aides with a need to be on-site (beyond drop-off and pick-up) must be cleared through our background check process, which can take up to 3 weeks to complete.
Payment from a Bank Account:
Use of a bank account as a payment method on Galileo’s website is subject to these terms and conditions (the “Terms”). Use of the Galileo Learning website is also governed by our Terms of Purchase, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms by posting updates on our website. By continuing to use your bank account as a payment method, you accept the updated Terms.
Authorization: When you pay for camp enrollments using your bank account, you authorize us to debit your bank account up to the total amount of your purchase, including applicable fees. You also authorize us to further debit or credit your bank account to correct any erroneous debit, make necessary adjustments to your payment, or to issue a refund back to your bank account.
Bank Account Eligibility and Verification: Your bank account must be able to accept debits denominated in US dollars. You authorize us to make any inquiries or obtain any information, including a credit report or other credit checks, that we determine are necessary to verify your bank account. We may suspend, refuse, or remove your ability to make a payment using your bank account without notice for any reason at any time.
Returned Payments: If your bank returns any payment using your bank account unpaid (for example, if you have insufficient funds available), we may retry the payment. Your bank may charge you an overdraft or other fees for each payment failure. Additionally, you authorize us to charge any other valid payment method we have on file for any amount that remains unpaid after any attempted charge. We may initiate a collection process or legal action to collect any money owed to us. You agree to pay all our costs for such action, including any reasonable attorneys’ fees.
