It’s almost time for Summit 2024! Read on for all the details you’ll need for our HQ adventure…

Transportation: If you’re flying, make sure to add your flight info here so we can be economical with transport from the airport. Take a look at the list and see if any colleagues are arriving at the same airport around the same time. If so, be proactive and collaborate to figure out a carpool situation.

If you’re in the Bay Area and want to carpool to Summit, you can set that up here. Once you arrive, we’ve got all your transportation covered, so just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Parking: Parking is $20/per car per night and will be covered by Galileo.

All Summit sessions will take place in the Bay View Ballroom, located just past the hotel front desk on your right.

Lunch will be served buffet-style in the hotel restaurant on Wednesday and Thursday, but NOT on Friday (you’ll be choosing a spot in the surrounding area with your team).

Breakfast will be served Thursday and Friday in the Bay View Ballroom from 8:15-8:45am, but NOT on Wednesday. For those traveling, prepare to grab breakfast before arriving at Summit on Wednesday.

The property has several inviting spaces to lounge, including a fire pit, corn hole, and nooks perfect for informal gatherings and post-Summit hangouts! Invite your colleagues to join you via the Summit Slack channels.

Galileo will reimburse you for your reasonable and necessary work-related travel expenses. You can find more details on our Travel & Per Diem Policy here.

Paid and Unpaid Time (Non-Exempt, Hourly Staff Only)

  • During the week, you will be paid for your time, minus meal breaks and free time/breaks, and then up until the end of the day’s programming.
  • We will have dinner on Wednesday and Thursday nights and this will be considered part of the Summit’s programming, so this will be considered paid time.

Hotel Check-In

Hotel check-in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival.

Monday & Tuesday arrivals: Your room will be pre-checked in, with keys ready for you to pick up at the front desk.

Wednesday arrivals: Your room keys will be ready for you at Summit check-in, although your room won’t be available until a little later in the day. In the meantime, you can drop your luggage in our ballroom or at the front desk.

*Guests will only need to provide a credit card at check-in if they want to charge anything to their room.

Event Check-In

Check-in is on Wednesday, September 25 from 9:45am–10:15am directly outside of the Bay View Ballroom in the foyer. Your specific check-in time will be staggered by the first letter of your last name:

9:45am–9:55am: Last names starting with A–D

9:55am–10:05am: Last names starting with E–N

10:05am–10:15am: Last names starting with O–Z

Check-in is a perfect time to ask any questions you might have about your three days at Summit. You’ll also get to reserve a time to take a free headshot. If you’re a new hire, we’ll have your name tag and lanyard waiting for you!

You’ll be given your color group assignment during Summit check-in!

Covid Policy

To ensure a safe and enjoyable Summit, we have the following COVID-19 policies in place:

Test Before You Arrive: All attendees are required to take a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of the event.

Please use a reputable testing provider or a self-administered home test kit.
Submit your test costs for reimbursement via Expensify.
If you receive a positive test result, do not attend the event. Email our People Services Team at hr@galileo-learning.com immediately so we can help with next steps.
If you cannot obtain a test prior to arrival, we’ll have a limited number of tests available on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive early and test one hour prior to Summit start time.

Hotel Check-out

Check-out is at 12pm on Friday, September 27. Feel free to leave your bags in the lobby in the morning before Summit sessions start or grab them before team lunch.

Clothing

  • Smart casual clothes for Summit sessions and daytime activities
  • A change of clothes for Wednesday’s group dinner out, if you like
  • A festive and fabulous outfit for Thursday night’s celebration, “An Evening of Mystery”. This can look like vibrant colors, playful patterns, camp flair, accessories that add a touch of sparkle, or if you opt for something more demure and mysterious—please do! Come dressed in something that makes you feel comfortable and ready to party!
  • Layers for outdoor activities; Thursday’s dinner will be outside and it will get chilly once the sun goes down!

Footwear

  • Comfy shoes made for walking (these will especially come in handy during Thursday’s scavenger hunt)

Miscellaneous

  • Your Camp Galileo name tag and lanyard! If you are a new employee and don’t have one yet, you’ll get it at Summit check-in.
  • Any camp swag or flair you like

Before Summit begins, remember to stay in touch by joining these Slack groups:

  • Your individual color team to coordinate Wednesday night dinner and communicate other group-specific happenings. You’ve been personally invited to these groups.
  • General Summit channel to chat about Summit-related sessions and find out what’s happening after hours (“Who’s up for a game of corn hole?”; “Coffee and a stroll anyone?”).
