Surprise your friends and family for spring with a gift box that really springs! Use the propulsive power of rubber bands to design a box that pops open and latches shut. Add spacers to modify the pulling forces, then BE DETERMINED to adjust them so your box springs open at the rate you choose. Finish your clever contraption with one additional element—a special message, paper confetti, launching cutouts or exterior decoration—to dazzle and delight your lucky giftee.
Note: This class puts a springtime twist on our Surprise Confetti Box. If your child took that class in the fall or winter, they’ll have a chance to keep building on the skills they learned, plus make a new gift box for a new season.
While we offer a similar class for younger kids, the pacing and content of this class is carefully calibrated for 6th – 8th graders.
