Learn cutting-edge cutting and folding techniques, then use symmetrical shapes, folded tents, tabs and rolled tubes to make every aspect of your ship. BE VISIONARY as you transform paper and cardboard into a final frontier-ready rocket, complete with inventive custom features like lookout towers for stargazing or spider-like legs for exploring new planets.
Note: While we offer a similar class for younger kids, the pacing and content of this class is carefully calibrated for rising 4th–5th graders.
This activity is included in our weeklong Toy Makers: Inventor’s Workshop curriculum. If your child has taken that class, they’ll already be familiar with this project—and have the chance to put a whole new spin on it.
