Summer has finally arrived, and we couldn’t be more excited. If you’re like many of the parents we hear from around this time of year, you’re probably busy finalizing your summer plans. Whether you’re planning on spending part of your summer with us or you’re still on the fence about signing up, we thought we would share what other parents are saying about our camps.

KRISTY BY THE SEA

Kristy lives in San Diego with her husband and two daughters. Between working for a tech company and juggling preschool and playdates, we see why she describes herself as a multi-tasking mom with a busy schedule! Kristy also runs a blog and recently wrote about spending spring break with her family while enjoying some STEAM activities from our handbook. In her post, she recommends our camps as a great place to encourage kids to try new things, safely learn from mistakes, and express creativity without fear.

THE PARENTOLOGIST

Dr. Kim Van Dusen is a Southern California-based Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist—not to mention a mom of two. In addition to her appearances on the TODAY show and KFMB News in San Diego, she has over 20 years of public speaking experience in her areas of expertise. In her latest post about Galileo, she wrote about having fun with her daughter while crafting some projects from our STEAM activity handbook. She describes Galileo as a fun space where children can explore, use their imaginations, and learn innovation skills. Drawing from her professional expertise, she also advocates for the Galileo Innovation Approach and how it can support kids in learning the steps they need to bring their creative ideas to life.

LITTLE HICCUPS

Sally is originally from Australia and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family of three young girls. Her blog chronicles everyday motherhood adventures, crafting projects she makes with her kids, travel, and design. Her family has made Galileo a part of their summer plan for years now, and recently spent a week crafting projects from the Galileo STEAM handbook. In her blog, she not only wrote about her experience creating the grabber project with her girls, but how the skills her oldest daughter learned at camp have given her the confidence to trust in her imagination and think outside the box to come up with creative solutions to problems.
