Innovation at Every Age

Array

While no two weeks at Camp Galileo are exactly alike, each one includes the same engaging elements. In addition to games, ceremonies, songs and other camp classics, rising K–5th graders participate in three enriching rotations every day, while 6th–8th graders dive into one immersive weeklong project.

From Innovator's Studio to Idea Lab to Outdoor Adventure, every rotation is tailored by age and designed to unlock the innovation skills campers need to thrive. Read on to learn more.

Innovator’s Studio

Campers build creative confidence as they make individual, polished STEAM projects to take home. While K–3rd graders fire up their active imaginations to fashion a few different projects each week, 4th–5th graders turn their attention to a single, more sophisticated weeklong design. In 6th–8th grades, campers spend most of their day focused on one incredible project, using advanced tools and techniques to transform their vision into reality.

Idea Lab

K–5th graders team up with friends to take on exciting, iterative challenges designed just for their age level. Whether they're building a tricky obstacle course or the tallest possible tower, it's all about experimenting with wild ideas, working together and learning innovation skills that last—even if their creations don't!

Outdoor Adventure

K–5th graders head outside to take on innovation-focused team challenges like hula hoop passes and group sculptures. They also play an array of active games, from relay races and tag to freeze dance and capture the chicken. Our adventures grow with campers, encouraging more independent thinking and collaborative problem solving as they move from kindergarten to 5th grade.

The Projects Are Just the Beginning

Galileo projects are awesome. But while campers are making their arrows and alien puppets, they’re also doing something more—they’re learning how to innovate. Fueled by a process inspired by the Stanford d.school, Galileo helps campers learn essential innovation skills, like how to creatively solve problems, fearlessly try new things and persist in the face of challenges.

The products are cool. But the byproducts—the newfound confidence, vision and grit you’ll start seeing in your kids after only a short time—are what make Galileo so much more than your average summer camp.

What Families Say

2023 Camp Parent
“Fun projects using tools my kids typically don't use at school or home to cut wood or the hot glue gun. The projects were engaging, age appropriate, and they had freedom to make it theirs while also completing the objective.”

“We feel it's the perfect camp experience... it builds community, the kids work on amazing projects and learn about that topic, they play fun games, and counselors make sure there's lots of silliness.”
