You already know that we’ve got the best staff in the business. But what you might not know is that some of these incredibly talented, creative and energetic staffers used to be Galileo campers.

When we receive a summer staff application from a former Galileo camper, we’re continually blown away at the quality of their resume and their dedication to the job. These remarkable young people—our former campers—understand our mission and can’t wait to introduce a new generation to the same crazy fun, profoundly enriching experience they had themselves.

This year, it’s Chloe’s turn to share the power of Galileo with our campers. A recent summer staff hire and longtime Galileo camper, hear below from Chloe in her own words.

“The number one thing I learned as a camper was that I am unique and my individuality is essential. Galileo staff taught me to value creativity in all subjects and to use that innovative mindset to pursue my individual strengths and goals.

I am excited about so many parts of the summer, but I am most looking forward to helping campers embrace their own uniqueness and find a passion for learning. My experience as a camper was incredible, and I want to bring that same joy to kids this summer.”

Chloe’s mom, Kim, has her own set of Galileo memories and hopes for this summer.

“Chloe was only 4 and a half years old during her first Galileo summer [as a ‘tiny, mighty Nebula’]. At Friday closing that first week, I remember wearing sunglasses to hide my tears as I watched her completely come out of her shell. Every summer that followed, I saw how Galileo challenged her perfectionism, encouraged her to try new things, and taught her to embrace failure. All those tiny steps along the way helped shape her into the bold, confident leader that’s now preparing for college. I can’t wait to see what she learns in her first year as a staffer.”
