Galileo is thrilled to announce a brand new Camp Galileo age group for rising 5th and 6th graders (current 4th and 5th graders) at select Bay Area locations.
The new Meteors age group offers tween campers super-cool thematic projects, more choice and an awesome aged-up camp vibe.
The curriculum has been in development for more than 6 months with the projects and activities developed to align with this year’s Camp Galileo themes.
Camp Galileo Meteors for rising 5th and 6th graders
Meteors who attend this exciting summer camp will experience a low camper-to-staff ratio of 10:1, and learn to use advanced materials and tools–wood, PVC, electronics, power tools & more!
Sharpening Design & Engineering Skills: Two-thirds of every day during the week-long camp will be spent building one epic project where Meteors can practice honing their design and engineering capabilities.
Make-Your-Own-Fun Time: Meteors will be able to create their own fun during daily “club time”. They can choose to make design-it-yourself snacks, play outdoor games, create cool crafts or build large-scale camp installations (like a sprinkler tunnel or giant water-balloon launchers) that younger campers will enjoy.
Ignite Your Inner Innovator: Meteors cultivate their Innovator’s Mindset and process superpowers to bring their innovations to life
Meteors-Only: Campers get the chance hang out in their Meteors-Only space, chilling out with their new Meteor friends and receiving mentorship from our amazing multi-subject instructors and educators.
