Courage Leads to Success and Innovation

Courage Leads to Success and Innovation

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
—Michael Jordan

At Galileo camps we encourage our campers to embrace failure. And as Michael Jordan reminds us, failure is a necessary step in success.

Celebrate Mistakes on #AwkwardMomentsDay

Is your drone’s flight path incorrect? Did your cupcake recipe taste strange? Does your automaton not move the way you want it to?

March 18, National Awkward Moments Day, is the perfect time to rejoice in your “marvelous” mistakes. Celebrating awkward moments and mistakes helps free kids from worrying about being wrong. In turn, empowering them to take risks and think outside the box.

Becoming a Fearless Innovator

Mistakes can happen as you identify your goals, generate ideas, and design a plan of action. That’s why we teach the Galileo Innovator’s Process to our campers. Our process provides campers with an iterative flow designed to bring their best ideas to fruition:

The Galileo Innovator’s Process teaches our camper’s confidence and helps them learn that each marvelous mistake brings them closer and closer to their goal. Plus, kids who learn to explore and fail with courage—the essence of innovation—are happier, more creative and more confident when faced with life’s challenges.

So go make some mistakes and remember, a mistake is just a mistake until you learn from it, then it becomes marvelous.
