Galileo Camps - Health & Safety

ENSURING HEALTH & SAFETY OF CHILDREN & STAFF

Consistent & Vetted Staff

We will match your Pod up with a Staffer who will be working solely with your Pod
Staff will be trained on all baseline safety protocols, including recommended use of face coverings and hand washing practices, and COVID19 symptoms as recommended by the CDC and local health authorities.

Additionally, just like traditional Galileo in-person programs, our staff goes through a rigorous interview process that includes: application, virtual interview, reference check, and criminal background check. Those that meet our standard of excellence – less than 15% of applicants on average – are invited to join the Galileo team.
All staff will be 18 years old or older; college students and above.

 

Drop off / Pick Up & Visitors
  • One adult per camper should accompany campers to/from the home
  • All adults should wear a mask if exiting their vehicle
  • Only Pod members and the Host Family may join the space where the Pod is located
  • Parent of the host home must be home at all times (at least 1 parent)

 

Daily Health Screening

Staff, campers & Host Family will complete a daily health screening prior to arriving at your home.

  • If your camper showing any symptoms of COVID19 (fever of 100.4 °F or greater, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, nausea, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, vomiting,  or other flu-like symptoms)?
  • Has your camper been in close contact with or do they live with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID19 in the last 14 days?

Campers and staff are asked to stay home if they answer “yes” to either of these health screening questions, and notify Galileo’s Customer Service Team who will notify Pod member families.

Campers and staff may resume camp attendance as long as they show proof of a negative COVD test result or they have met CDC criteria to discontinue home isolation, including 24 hours with no fever, symptoms have improved and 10 days have elapsed since symptoms first appeared.

 

Masks
  • Staff are required to wear masks at all times, except while eating and drinking.
  • Campers are required to wear masks except while eating and drinking or engaging in physical activity, unless they are exempted from wearing a face covering due to a medical condition.

  • Other adults are asked to wear a mask when in the same space as the Pod.

 

Hand Washing

Frequent hand washing (preferred) or hand sanitizing will be required for campers and staff:

  • Upon arrival
  • Before/after eating
  • Before/after using any shared supplies
  • After coughing or sneezing, touching face or face mask
  • Before and after using the restroom
  • Before pick up

 

Cleaning

Staff will do general pick up; host parent will responsible for cleaning the Pod space before/after the program
