"My daughter had so much fun in this class learning a bit about architecture and being creative. She liked building a tree house and all the accessories. Now that class has ended, she’s inspired to build another house! The best part was that my husband and I could do other things while our daughter was entertained by the excellent instructor. "
-Lisa, Los Angeles, CA

What You'll Do

Harness the power of paper to architect your own city in this inventive weeklong class. Lay a strong foundation of imagination, then master the basics of building with paper as you design, construct and customize everything from zoos and castles to towers and treehouses.

BE VISIONARY to imagine the zoo of your dreams, letting your creativity run wild as you design the layout, build enclosures and populate them with 3D animals. Turn your attention skyward with a pair of soaring structures: a mighty tall tower and an elevated treehouse. BE DETERMINED to learn the paper rolling and taping techniques that will keep your creations stable and strong. Lend a noble touch to your neighborhood with a monarch-worthy castle, complete with walls, drawbridges and towers that feel sturdy and look stately. Finally, bring your buildings together, mixing and matching a range of paper shapes—tubes, tabs, tents, boxes—to add streets, citizens and more to your one-of-a-kind city.

Note: This weeklong class is more than just innovation-igniting projects—it’s an immersive experience full of delightful details, including interactive games, silly traditions, snacks (see Materials, below) and dress-up days designed to build community, bolster confidence and deliver loads of camp-away-from-camp fun.

The curriculum includes some of our most popular paper-building projects. If you’ve taken our single-session Amazing Zoos, Mighty Tall Towers or Majestic Castles classes, your child will be familiar with some of the week’s activities—and have the chance to put a new spin on a project they’ve done before.
